Stephanie Mason
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys working with youth through movement, music, sensory, and volunteer programming; organizing; playing with her cat and dogs and chinchillas; and learning new things. “I am passionate about making an impact on my community, and facilitating life enriching programs for all ages.”
Originally from Philadelphia, Stephanie came to Staunton for college in 2012. She fell in love with the mountains, met a lovely classmate who became her partner, and they decided to make this valley their home. She was a high school teacher for about 6 years, and when her partner died in a car accident, Stephanie quit teaching, joined the local School Board, traveled to Africa for a month, and when she came back she started working for Green Valley Auctions. “Out of the numerous jobs I have and still hold, GV is by far my favorite! It's a dynamic work environment where I feel supported by coworkers, appreciated by Greg and Elizabeth, and am constantly learning and growing as an employee.”
Stephanie’s love of language and deftness with words is an asset to the catalog description-writing process, as is her attention to detail and her ability to focus for long periods of time. “And my sarcasm adds the warm workplace climate, too!”
“My favorite part of being a Green Valley employee is the dynamic work environment, the constant learning, the kind and funny customers, letting loose my inner silly goose every day, and most importantly: the dogs.”
