Green Valley Moving is a local company serving our neighbors in Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro and throughout the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We have multiple crews and a small fleet of trucks, enabling us to serve both large and small moves.

Need two 26’ moving trucks and a six man crew? No problem! We have you covered. Not moving much? We can set you up with a two man crew and our 17’ truck.

Green Valley is an independent moving company. We offer our clients dedicated moves and accommodate their delivery date. Our crews are made up of our own professionally trained full-time movers committed to personal attention throughout your moving process; we will treat your possessions as our own.

  • Trash Removal

    Selling an estate? Trying to get your house on the market? If you’re overwhelmed, we can help. For large jobs, we can arrange for a dumpster and provide the labor to fill it. For smaller jobs we can provide a dump trailer and fill it. We can even make arrangements for donations to be picked up or transported to your favorite non-profit.

  • Short Term Storage

    If you can’t make it for the scheduled pickup days, we offer weekly storage at a very reasonable price. If you are traveling for a distance to get here, it might make sense to pay storage for a month or so to pickup all of your winnings at once. For more details check out the auction terms when you register, or give us a call.

  • Downsizing

    Downsizing or simply looking to get rid of some excess baggage? Whether it’s through an in home evaluation, an online survey complete with pictures or just a phone call with basic descriptions, a Green Valley representative can walk you through the process. You’re only a phone call away from lightening your load.

Frequently Asked Questions for Moving

  • Moving can be stressful and often times if you have never done it before, you aren’t quite sure where to start. Start with a call or email to our front office and we’ll get you started with some basic questions about your upcoming move. From there we can discuss your moving needs and walk you through the process. We have experience in meeting deadlines and coordinating the move out and move in requirements to best accommodate your needs.

  • The sooner you contact a move company about your upcoming move, the better. Though it may take us some time to finalize the finer details of your move, it is helpful to get to working on your move 4 weeks in advance if possible (especially during the busy spring and summer move months). The more lead time we have, the easier it is for us to accommodate your preferred moving schedule.

  • Absolutely! Depending on the move details, we may send our move coordinator out to do an evaluation of your home OR we may ask you to provide us with an inventory list of the items you need us to move. Based on this information, we can give you an estimate for your move.

  • We accept cash, check or credit card. There is a 3% charge for credit cards.

  • You will pay for your move upon completion of the job.

  • We offer storage based on our availability and what type of storage you need.

They first surveyed the three floors, garage, and outside areas to determine what was to be moved. Then, systematically began the process. Matt was the wrapper and did it in a fast but very careful manner. After he finished that job he helped move some of the heaviest furniture. All three men were careful in handling everything and conscientious about protecting the walls and floors of my house. I highly recommend this crew!"
