The Magic of Giving

Christmas brings out the childlike wonder hidden within each of us. The season brings a sense of excitement, anticipation and just a feeling of goodness. Imagine riding alongside a child, eyes wide with fascination as they are in awe looking at Christmas lights and all the blow-up decorations. Their murmurs of delight and innocent giggles as they spot presents stacked beneath the tree remind us of the pure magic of this time of year. Observe the sneakiness of teenagers and adults trying to be nonchalant while casting hopeful glances at the gifts, searching for their names. And when you see someone dressed as Santa—whether in a store or marching in a parade—it's impossible not to smile and wave. As strangers exchange heartfelt wishes of "Merry Christmas," a sense of connection weaves through it all, echoing that precious feeling of excitement, anticipation, and goodwill that this season brings.

However, for some, Christmas can be a season of extra stress and worry. All parents want the best for their children but for those who are struggling to just keep food on the table, the thought of presents under a tree is more like a dream. Rent, food, clothing-the cost of living has outpaced the increase in wages. Working families continue to prioritize between paying rent or buying presents.

We are excited to partner with Pleasant Valley Elementary School to be an extra-blessing to 3 families that need an extra boost this year. We are also coordinating with Open Doors to provide essential hygiene products as presents to those currently facing housing instability.

We are not asking for a lot, just a little childlike wonder, a touch of excitement and some pure magic, in return, I believe the feeling of goodness that you will receive will be more than worth it.
